The first foraging journey was to the bountiful forest of Stop N Shop. Close to the home cave, accessible 24 hours a day, and only a few scattered mammals were foraging; plenty to go around.Most of the time was spent in the produce aisle, organic aisle, and bean aisle (never knew there were so many varieties). I made two mild concessions. Frozen veggies. Only when the vegetable was not readily available in the produce aisle (it is January, after all). Also, I found organic canned beans that are soaked in water and sea salt. Since dry beans don't taste too good on salads, I decided to buy some, along with dried beans. I figure somewhere in the world some beans are getting sprayed naturally with saltwater. Right?
Anyway, here's what the first scavenging earned me:
